Who are the teachers? Do the teachers have a California Teaching Credential?

Math Enrichment’s staff is comprised of California Credentialed teachers from various school districts throughout the Bay Area and San Diego County.

How many children are there per class?

Classes are usually limited to 25 to 30 students, however some classes may have one or two additional students due to extenuating circumstances. There are typically one teacher and two teaching assistants in each class. giving us a ratio of 10 to 1 in each class. Our Kinder and first grade classes have one teacher and three teaching assists for 20 to 25 students.

What are the school hours?

Classes begin at 9:00 AM and students are dismissed at 3:00 PM Students can arrive each day as early as 7:45 AM and be picked up as late as 6:00 PM.  The before school care is from 7:45 AM to 9:00 AM at NO CHARGE to our working parents.  FREE early drop off will save our working parents up to $150 verse other summer programs in the area.  Our after school care is from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at a cost of $1.75 every 15 minutes or $7.00 per hour.

Do you have morning and after school care and is there an extra charge?

Yes, morning and after school care is provided. Morning care will be available each day beginning at 7:45 AM at NO CHARGE, and after school care will be provided from 3:00 to 6:00 at $7.00 per hour. We charge parents $1.75 every 15 minutes.  For example, if your child is picked up at 4:45 we only charge you $12.25 for that day. After school care fees are paid the Friday of each week. The school site will provide an invoice for the after school hours each week.

Is lunch provided at school each day?

If students do not choose to bring a bag lunch from home, they will be able to purchase lunch through the program. We will provide hot options and snacks from local vendor search day. Lunch combos can be purchased each day for $6 (this will include a hot item, snack, and drink). If parents wish to purchase lunches in advance, they can buy lunch tickets to give to their children each day.  We will be posting a lunch menu on our website in late April or early May.  This will give you enough time to decide if you would like to purchase lunch during the summer.

Is Math Enrichment an Accredited Program?

Math Enrichment is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the premier accreditation organization in the Western United States.

Can my child receive high school credit for a completion of the summer math classes and is the class UC Approved?

Yes, your child can receive high school credit for high school math classes and the class is UC Approved.   Our staff will contact your child’s school at the end of the program to make sure your child’s school is changed.  Math Enrichment’s  HIGH SCHOOL MATH CLASSES this summer will be conducted by SOFOS PREPARATORY ACADEMY.  These classes are WASC ACCREDITED AND UC APPROVED, which means they meet the A-G requirements for admissions to UC, CSU, and private colleges.   The classes will be taught by teachers holding a single subject math credential, and who teach at various high schools in Santa Clara County.  If your child needs to fill out any paperwork at his/her middle or high school, please list the school name as SOFOS PREPARATORY ACADEMY.   Sofos will administer the official transcript at the end of the program with the appropriate credit for the class completed over the summer.  The official transcript will be delivered to your child’s school the first week of August.  Your child’s school can look up SOFOS PREPARATORY ACADEMY on the UC A-G Course List.

If I leave for a week or two on vacation can I receive a tuition discount?

Math Enrichment is not a weekly program and does not offer a weekly tuition rate.  Our tuition rate is lower than any other program in the area.  As a result, there is no tuition credit for students who miss class time during the summer. Our staff will be more than happy to work with you and your child to provide all class work that is completed during your absence, and our staff will assist your child with making up any missing math exams on their return.

I have multiple children that I would like to send to Math Enrichment, is there a family discount available?

Yes, there is a discount for signing up multiple siblings. A second child will receive a $25 discount, and a third child will receive a $50 discount. Each child after the third will also receive a $50 discount. Please share your 10 digit referral code on your confirmation email with any friends or family. The first five (1-5) provide a $25 discount per referral per family and the second five (6-10) provide a $50 discount per family referral. What does my child need to bring to the first day?

Nothing but a great attitude and a willingness to learn! All necessary materials will be provided on the first day – curriculum, textbooks, school supplies and Math Enrichment t-shirt.

Is there homework?

There will be NO homework assignments. However, class assignments that are not finished during the time allotted during the day will is recommended to be completed at home. In addition, it is recommended that students take time to study the material learned in class, particularly prior to an exam.  This is mainly for our all-day middle or high school math classes.  Our All Day Math Classes final grade is solely based on the exams taken after each chapter and the final exam.

How can I keep up to date with my child's progress?

If your child is taking a math class, simply provide the program with an email address that you check on a regular basis. After every test, you will receive an individualized email containing your child’s test results and his or her current grade in the class. Elementary level students will take home a Friday Folder containing assignments completed and graded during the week. Of course, if you are looking for additional information, you may contact your child’s teacher directly or contact our 24-hour customer service at (408) 667-9277.  Our staff is hear to help keep you updated on your child’s progress.

What is the refund policy?

The $350 deposit is Non-Refundable, but if you have to cancel after signing up, you may apply $300 to next year’s fees. The $50 processing fee is non-refundable. After the program begins, NO REFUNDS will be given.  Parents have until June 1, 2019, to decide if they would like to move the $300 to Summer 2020.  After June 1, 2019, the $350 is completely Non-Refundable.  ANY FEES PAID ABOVE $350 WILL BE REFUNDED BACK TO YOUR ORIGINAL FORM OF PAYMENT.
